This Melon Ice Quilt Pattern was originally published in the May 2014 issue of American Quilter Magazine.  It is paper pieced but suitable for someone new to this technique.

There are endless options for this pattern. You can choose to go scrappy or make the blocks at 50% scale.  Doing both of those things, I created the table runner pictured in the Product Gallery.

Melon Ice was a lot of fun to make. The directions are clear and easy to follow. I made the quilt in solids and a fabric with letters. The hardest part of the quilt was choosing the fabric. I’m sure I’ll make this one again. There are so many possible variations.
