Time for a Gardening Post

Our early blooming azalea.

I was given these last year and told that they were a hardy begonia. They don’t look like others that I see on line. Can anyone correct me?

I just love the colors of this Lungwort, Pulmonaria.

It’s starting to get exciting in the garden these days. The last few days have been particularly warm. I even got out the kiddie pool and slip and slide for the kids this morning and they had a great time. A few pretty spring flowers are starting to bloom. My daffodils have been blooming in front of the house for at least a week now. And the periwinkle around them is blooming too. Lots of the plants are big green mounds now, coming back nice and healthy. There are a few things that seem to be missing that either come up later than I remembered OR the nasty voles got to them over the winter. This afternoon, I managed to fertilize the hybrid tea roses that we planted last year. That was quite a feat with my very pregnant belly getting in the way. Most of the weeding is on hold for the next month but I don’t think I can really handle that. I try to do a little bit here and there and have tried to “hire” my six year old to help me weed but so far, he hasn’t been terribly receptive. He’d rather go play than earn a dollar. I can’t say that I blame him! My seedlings are doing well too. I have been carting them in and out of the house to acclimate them. I can’t wait till it is warm enough to get them in the ground though I am afraid that I may not be able to bed at all by then!
