One of my blog readers gave me the terrific idea to make a cookies for Santa mug rug!

Here is what I came up with. I went for a traditional look so that it could become a part of some family’s tradition…a mug rug that they pull out each year for Santa on Christmas Eve! The center is a linocut print of a pair of gingerbread men with a raw edge applique heart. I free motion quilted “Cookies for Santa” on a piece of linen and dotted the “I” with a glass bead.
I know, you are more interested in those cookies right? They are one of my favorites and I just put a batch in the freezer for Christmas. Have you tried Chocolate Crackles? Yum!
