It’s daylily time and that delights me to no end! The peak time for daylilies in these parts is mid July so there is more to look forward to!
This is Double Dream and it bloomed for the first time today. I love the look of a double daylily. They are so frilly and lovely.
This dark purple daylily, shown above and below, is called Chicago Regal. I have it paired with a miniature (flowers are miniature but the stalks are tall) daylily called “Golden Chimes” and I love the combination. In this photo you can hardly see “Golden Chimes” but there is one back by the obelisk.
Meet “Crinoline Skirts.” This daylily has a green/yellow flower. It isn’t my absolute favorite but I fell hard for its name.
And this is “Red Rum.” It’s exiled to the garden in front of the barn because my side garden has no red. It was a bit of an arbitrary decision but I am sticking with it. There is very little orange either. I am keeping more to the purples, blues, pinks and yellows.
