Well, you didn’t think that I could design a pencil case pattern and get away without making them for my kids did you? This is Lily’s Hexiecase for kindergarten. She is a horse lover so I bought this Heather Ross girls playing with horses fabric with her in mind. I thought this was the perfect project to highlight it but not use it all up in one place!
I let her pick from a selection of coordinating yellow and orange prints. She chose all the yellows for the outside and Mingle Polka Dot in Tangerine for the inside. She picked the pink zipper because I think she just needed a touch of pink in there somewhere with all the yellow and orange!
I enjoyed fussy cutting the pictures of the little girls playing with their plastic horses. They remind me so much of Lily.
Timothy is in a green and orange phase at the moment. He chose some bright fabrics, including one of my current favorites, Metro Living Circles, and a silly frog print for the ends and lining.
I love the row of exclamation points!
Now the kids have their pencil bags…clothes and shoes are up next. They are probably slightly more important but I can’t whip up sneakers.
