My daughter gave me the perfect excuse to play a bit with my new toy, the Big Shot. She was invited to a birthday party for a little girl who is turning six and loves to wear headbands. Furthermore, she likes dressing like a princess and all things glitzy and sparkly. We found some glitzy headbands and I embellished them using the Sizzix BigZ Tattered Flowers Die. I was pleased with the amount of variety I could get using just that one die and the scraps of wool felt that I had leftover from other projects.
I used one larger flower for the base here with two little flowers in the center. The yellow metal embellishments in the center are BasicGrey.
For this headband I used a row of five single tiny red felt flowers with clusters of clear glass beads in the center. I stitched the beads on two per stitch which helped make them clump and pile on top of each other.
This headband is made up of a row of three double layered tiny flowers with clumps of pastel glass beads in the center. I also added little felt green leaves.
The final headband is a combination of pink and yellow felt. The outermost flowers have clumps of glass beads in the center. The middle flower has a BasicGrey stitched brad at the center. I simply forced the felt onto the brad and then secured it and attached the flower to the headband with hot glue.
Fun, fun!
