I’ve been a crazy sewing fool. I decided that Chocolate Bunny absolutely needed a friend. I’m happy to introduce his friend, Spring Chicken. She is also a 10″ paper pieced block so they can be used together in a wall hanging, quilt, etc. Mine will be a set of spring time pillows. I think I am craving spring because we had a snow day today (no school) and another foot of snow!
I used the same floral for the background that I used for the Chocolate Bunny but in a different colorway. It’s BasicGrey Kissing Booth Sweet Nothings in Cotton Candy. The small floral is so perfect for hiding the many seams.
The chick is made from the yellow BasicGrey Grunge from the PB&J line. The feet and beak are BasicGrey Grunge in orange…I think I used this one. I added a button eye and a little embroidery stitch on the beak.
Aren’t they cute together?
Spring Chicken is available in my Craftsy shop and my Etsy shop. I hope you have as much fun making them as I did! I think Spring Chicken is a touch easier than Chocolate Bunny (in case you are debating which to try first). Both use a generous fat quarter of the background fabric.
