Wickerweave Textured Solids

If you know me at all, you know I love textured solids; especially for paper piecing. I often want to include solids in my paper pieced designs so that they do not become too busy and so that shapes are clearly defined.  But I don’t want a flat solid so I go for textured solids.

I just received these new textured solids courtesy of Andover Fabrics.  The collection is called Wickerweave by Renee Nanneman.  I chose colors that I thought would work with my collection of garden paper pieced patterns since my big goal over the next few months is to finish my garden pattern series and quilt.  I’m really happy at how well they coordinate with the blocks I have made so far.  I think that they will work into future blocks really well.

The pink is subdued like the pinks I have used so far in my blocks.  The red is deep as well.  See how well the work with my Victorian Greenhouse block?

The green works nicely with the fabric I chose for the Picking Violets block.

Here are some of the blocks resting on the linen colored Wickerweave. I plan to use this for the sashing on my quilt.

I am excited to get back to work on this quilt!  First, I have a bit of sewing to do for quilt market so my blog will be quieter than normal for a couple more weeks while I get that done.
