I’m so happy with this pattern!  I’ve been mulling over a topiary block design for the better part of a year now but it was a tricky one to execute. All the blocks in my gardening series are 10″ square and topiaries tend to be rectangular.  It seemed that the best solution was to make two but I didn’t want to simply join two halves with a line down the center. I wanted to be able to break the block up in a less obvious way.  Finally everything just clicked and I love it!

I have a fondness for terracotta pots so this was a great way to sneak a second and third pot into my quilt.  (The free Pick Violets block also has a pot).

3 more blocks to go!

This pattern is now available in my Etsy shop and Craftsy shop for instant download.
