In case you missed the news yesterday, Shannon has just released the Sally Dress pattern! You can purchase it here. The pattern covers the 2T-8 size range, has a fully lined bodice and the option of sleeveless or two sleeve lengths. And for those of you who are scared of buttons or zippers; it has no closures. The wide bodice and square neckline allow you to slip the dress on and off. I have to admit that I have tried a couple of other “slip on” styles and found that the fit was miserable. This pattern has given me the best fit in a slip on style to date! I’m sure it was not an easy task to design.
I made my cutie the dress in a size 5T. She is currently inbetween size 4T and 5T but needed the 5T for her big head. I did take it up a little bit in the length to account for the fact that she was inbetween sizes but left it longish because that’s how she likes her dresses at the moment. I went with the longest sleeve option since fall is right around the corner.
I also used these deep plum colored fabrics because I thought that they were great heading into fall.
My favorite thing about this pattern is the big pockets. I love the chance to use a contrasting print there.
I’m happy to add this dress to Penny’s off to preschool wardrobe! I bet your little girl would love one too. Thanks for a great pattern Shannon!
