Header-GreenMaybe you remember that not too long ago the Fat Quarter shop introduced a new free quilt pattern and video called Jelly Roll Jam?  Well, they have done it again!  The new free pattern is called Layer Cake Lemonade and you can find it right here.  There is a video to go along with the pattern too.  These quilts are a part of a new series called Shortcut Quilts.  They are perfect for the first time quilter but they are also good for the experienced quilter who has one too many precuts sitting on the shelf!  Go on and grab one and turn it into something.  These make the perfect toddler bed sized quilts/lap quilts measuring 48″ x 61″.

They sent me a layer cake of Kate Spain’s Sunnyside to make a Layer Cake Lemonade. It came together very quickly and easily. The hardest part was deciding on the fabric placement. Isn’t that always the way?

I quilted with an allover loop/double loop pattern which was fun.

I donated my finished quilt to Victoria Findlay Wolfe’s foundation, Bumble Bean Basics. The quilts are donated to people in need and I thought that this fabric line-a combination of cloudy and rain filled prints as well as sunshine was perfect to suggest hope and a new start after a storm.
