Banner for Hope

I am participating in the Banners for Hope display at the CHA this year through ThermOWeb. I am no stranger to flags/banner projects following my work on the To Boston with Love project. I think it is wonderful that all these banners are out there providing support, love and color to those who need it!

Banner for Hope detail

For this banner, I worked with natural canvas which was recommended in the tutorial. I cut my letters for the word “hope” using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Word Play Die.  Because I didn’t want to stitch around the small letters, I fused them using a no sew HeatnBond Ultra. The “clouds” that contain the stamped phrase by Emily Dickinson are fused with HeatnBond Lite and raw edge appliqued, as is the branch. The wings were die cut with Tim Holtz’ Layered Angel Wings die and stitched in place.

I hope this banner lifts someone’s spirits!
