Do you remember this WIP? I last shared it in March of 2013! I had made 8 blocks at that time and over the last few days, I’ve made 4 more. I am still a long way from the queen sized quilt I am planning.
The block is called Rose Dream and it is a vintage block that I am piecing using a Sizzix die. The quilt is intended for our bedroom and we have periwinkle blue walls and linen white trim. Our rug has some mustard/citron and dusty green in it. So I am using many shades of white and off white for the background fabric in each block with prints in blue, green and citron.
I started this quilt at the Boston Modern Quilt Guild retreat last March and plan to bring it to work on some more this March when I attend this year’s joint BMQG and Seacoast Modern Quilt Guild retreat. I just have to precut a few more pieces and I will have plenty to keep me busy! The blocks are not difficult but they are slow going.
I did notice that my curved piecing has improved in the past year. The curves on the blocks that I just made are a little bit smoother than the ones I made last year. So, that makes me happy. I might make one or two more and then I am putting it away again till the retreat!
