This is another pillow that I made for my booth at spring market. I used my Coneflower with Butterfly block that I designed way back when I made my paper pieced garden themed quilt…remember that? Click here to see the finished quilt. I thought that the fabric colors in my Improv collection would work well for this block and I am happy with the results. This pillow received a lot of nice comments at market! The border of the pillow is made with my “beans” print. It is made up of a bunch of irregular shaped ovals and some of them are not solid but rather crosshatched. It comes in three colors but this is my son’s favorite of the collection. He has requested a pillowcase made up in it in this, the citron, colorway. I quilted this pillow in straight lines with Aurifil thread from my Improv collection. It’s always fun to revisit an old pattern and see how it looks in fresh, new fabric combinations!
If you would like to make this block, the pdf download is available in the pattern shop on my website and on Etsy and Craftsy. Improv will be shipping in June/July. Please ask your local quilt shop to place an order!
