Little House on the Prairie Sew Along; Wild Geese Flying into the Sunset

Penny and I have been reading By the Shores of Silver Lake, so it was time to make block 11 in our Little House on the Prairie Sew Along!  Mary loses her eyesight in this book due to scarlet fever.  (Fun fact:  I had scarlet fever when I was a kid and always thought it was kind of cool because it was mentioned in Little House!)  Laura describes things to Mary and Mary says that her words paint beautiful pictures. Laura describes a few sunsets and talks about wild geese in this volume. So the block is meant to symbolize geese flying against the sunset sky.

Penny enjoyed choosing all the colors that she sees in the sky when there is a colorful sunset. I think we might have a Lizzy House fan on our hands!

Remember, if you’d like to join our sew along, it’s the most relaxed sew along on the planet.  Find the sew along page in the header at the top of the page and select “Little House on the Prairie” and start sewing!
