Penny continues to be determined to finish her quilt this year so that it can hang at our local library for the textile exhibit in January. Of course, I have nothing else to do this time of year (ha, ha, ha), so it has been fitting into my schedule perfectly. While it has been a challenge, I will feel really good when we complete this project too. Most all of my sewing time this past week has been devoted to it. Penny completed this block representing Laura’s daughter’s blocks. Rose was described as a child who liked to play with her books and wooden letter blocks. You can find the directions here.
Then we made this musical notes block which is the last in the series, completing her quilt top! The pattern can be found in this post.
I sewed the top together for her, basted and quilted with a stipple as she requested. I am currently handstitching the binding and attaching her label and some buttons. We hope to have finished pictures for you on Tuesday!
