I have a fun little project in the current issue of Modern Quilts Unlimited. These are substantial (actually useful!) and super fun hexie shaped pincushions. I created an entire trio, for various skill levels.
These samples are sewn with Sun Print 2018, a collection by Alison Glass for Andover. The bright colors make them really cheerful in your sewing space.
I enjoyed designing this pattern and hope that you will enjoy sewing from it. The tops are paper pieced and from there, they are quickly assembled and ready for use.
I stuffed mine with crushed walnuts to hold the shape and to sharpen my pins. I know that some people are allergic to the shells but I would suggest using something along those lines, maybe bird grit and gravel, or another alternative.
Enjoy!
