I just finished sewing for Quilt Market and I think it’s time to stop showing sneak peeks on IG and to start showing off the quilts that are in this stack! Does that sound good? I have designed 4 patterns with 4 unique looks. I am hoping that there is one to suit everyone!
Today, I would like to reveal one of the four patterns that accompany my new fabric collection, By Hand. This pattern is called Game Board. It’s an easy to sew quilt, appropriate for quilters of any skill level. The colors are separated into warm and cool groups and within those groups, they are arranged in rainbow order and alternate between light and dark sets of color. I am really pleased with the look.
I designed this quilt in EQ8 software, a product that I use for most of my quilt design. If you are interested, there is a coupon code in my side bar for a 20% discount on the software. I think it is worth every cent!
Normally, I quilt my own quilts but, due to the spring market deadline, I needed a little help. I hired Carrie Zizza to quilt Game Board for me with a design that I found online. It’s a spiraling square design and I think it suits the quilt really nicely. It was quilted in a light gray thread to match the Medium Gray Colorweave that I used for the background fabric.
I named the quilt game board because it reminds me of a colorful board game. Do you see that too? The spiraling square quilting could be me getting sent back to start, over and over again, ha, ha.
The Game Board pattern will be released as a PDF and as a paper pattern in just about a week! I hope you are excited to make one!
