I just finished my second variation of the original Daisy Chain quilt found in my Petal + Stem book. This time, I used the exact same layout and blocks as the original quilt. All I did was change the color scheme and fabrics but wow, what a different look!

I used a print for the background fabric called Calico Days from Sharon Holland’s Spirited collection for Art Gallery Fabrics. That’s a print from Spirited on the back too. I fell in love with Calico Days when I first saw it and thought it had such a neat, washed out, vintage look to it.

I quilted in a diagonal grid but, due to the floral background fabric, the quilting doesn’t really stand out the way it does on a solid fabric quilt. So, I went easy on myself and made a larger grid. It’s made up of one inch and half inch lines. I used Aurifil 2562, a dusty lavender, for the quilting.

This is the last Daisy Chain variation for awhile because I don’t want my other patterns to think that I am playing favorites! I am working on a new Potting Mix quilt now as well as a collection of leaf blocks. I will share those soon.
