I mentioned that the Whimsy Garden Sew-along would be coming soon when I shared my quilt a couple of weeks ago. I thought I would drop in and share all the details today. It feels like a strange time to be celebrating the release of a new book. However, I am following through with the plans that I had in place. It’s still a time a new growth and hope and sewing flower quilts seems like a perfect distraction while we are limiting our exposure by staying inside. I hope you will join us!

As a reminder, this is the Whimsy Garden quilt. The pattern can be found in my book, Petal + Stem. All you need to do between now and the start of the sew-along on April 13th, is get your copy. Then, you are ready!

Shipping has been challenging lately but I have some good resources for you now. If you are in the US, the best place for you to order is directly from me by following this link. If you are in the UK, the books are in fact in the UK and are shipping from some smaller shops, so check yours, and also from Search Press. Search Press knows about our sew-along and has books ready to ship. Also shipping from the UK but worldwide, is Book Depository. If you are in Australia, Booktopia is shipping! Here’s how the sew-along will work. On April 13th, there will be a post here on my blog about color palettes and fabric choices. You will then have two weeks to order fabric (or find it in your stash), and precut the background fabric chunks. Then there will be another post talking about the first row of the quilt which we will take two weeks to sew. Each person can choose their own blocks since my book is all about mixing and matching, and pop them into the layout grid. It will be so fun to see everyone’s versions! Every two weeks, a new row will be introduced. Then finally, there will be a discussion about quilting possibilities.

There is no sign-up for the sew-along. Just follow my blog, my IG account or FB page and I will announce each new portion of the sew-along and you simply join in!
