I was invited to join the Quilt Designer Shop Hop and it’s my turn today! Each of the ten designers has designed a block that is offered for free during the Shop Hop. After that time, it will be available for just $2.00.
You can find my block here. We were asked to design blocks around the theme of moving forward, separate but together, inspired by quarantine. My block is called Onward and I chose arrows to suggest different people, moving at their own pace, in their own lanes, doing what they felt was right and comfortable and healthy. I also think it’s a cool modern block! I enjoy paper piecing, so this is a paper pieced 12″ finished block.

Please visit all the other designers too. Here’s the schedule:

We all used EQ8 software to design our blocks and shared our files with each other so that we could create a layout using all the blocks. This was tricky because our blocks are all so different!

Here’s what I came up with! I did use one of the blocks 4 times in order to create that center design. The blocks alternate with simple pinwheel blocks.
During this Shop Hop, we will all be doing Facebook videos so please check those out too. I will be including links to each of them on my Facebook page daily this week. If you don’t already, follow me there so that you see those!
If you are new to my site, you will find lots of patterns in my pattern shop here on my web site. All of those same patterns, plus physical items such as paper patterns, books, and fabric, can be found in my Etsy shop. I also just prepared a couple of online workshops for those who love paper piecing and modern designs! You can find them here.
