Autumnal Bouquet Quilt

Did you see my post yesterday? I introduced a new bundle of four paper pieced patterns that I call the Autumnal Bouquet. I wanted to make a small project using a couple of these new blocks and this is what I made!

It’s a wall size quilt measuring about 33″ square. I love the look of acorn caps with colorful wool balls. Have you seen crafts like that? I decided to make fanciful acorns, reminiscent of the wool ball variety, in any colors that I pleased. I chose a fall palette for both the acorns and the leaves and used a soft green for the background.

I quilted with a 50 weight Aurifil thread in a very soft yellow color. It’s a diagonal grid with lines spaced a half inch apart.

I am currently enjoying this quilt on the side table in my dining with a basket of homegrown gourds on top. I will keep it there through the end of November and then it’s time to start switching things up for Christmas!
