I was inspired by the upcoming Holiday Tell Me A Story Block Swap, to create another Christmas Transitions set!
If you aren’t familiar with these, they are blocks that I have designed to alternate with Tell Me A Story blocks, from my book Intentional Piecing. They give the quilt top layout a fun new look! Here’s an example of a small quilt top made with Christmas themed Tell Me A Story blocks and Transitions Collections 1 and 2.
Aren’t they so cute? I thought it would be fun to add even more options.
Christmas Transitions Collection 3 includes a lightbulb which gives you a way of including multiple colors in your quilt top. You could make them red, green, yellow, blue, or even pink to pull in the colors of your Tell Me A Story blocks. The Candle can also be various colors. The the Reindeer can be made with a red nose or brown…or maybe just one with a red nose and then you can play a game of iSpy Rudolph!
I hope you have fun making these. I kept them as simple as I could since they are small blocks. Trimming to 1/8″ helps with the bulk and then it’s smooth sailing!
