As I teach workshops, visit guilds, and even just read comments from quilters online, I hear so many of you saying that you want to sew from your stash. I can completely understand that because it feels really good to turn something that you already have into a useful, finished project. I get a great deal of satisfaction from it.

I designed the Satisfaction Quilt to bring you that satisfaction too. Satisfaction is a stash busting, sampler style, foundation paper pieced quilt. Each of the 12 blocks is unique and original.

Let your stash guide your fabric choices. If you have solids, use those. If you have pastel prints, use those! There are so many options! While my finished quilt has a scrappy look, I wouldn’t call this a scrap project. The blocks are large (18″ finished) and use primarily fat quarters and half yards. In this way, they really make a dent in that stash! I was also able to back and bind my quilt from my stash. If you are too, this project is free aside from the cost of the pattern! The pattern is $30, containing 12 full size templates ready for paper piecing, and 19 full color pages of instructions, packaged as an easy PDF download.

The confident foundation paper piecer will find these blocks pleasurable to sew. They are not wildly challenging with bulky seams to manage or lots of tiny pieces. They require an average skill level.

The finished quilt measures 54″ x 72″ which is a great size for cuddling on the couch. I quilted mine with a 1″ diagonal grid so it has a lot of drape. Oh, I even used my Aurifil thread stash for quilting!

I am happy to announce that I am running a quilt along for this project! If you click here, it will take you to a check out through my newsletter platform. Once you pay for the pattern, you will be able to download it immediately. You will then be added to the Satisfaction Quilt Along group and will get an email right away with a PDF schedule that you can download. Then you will receive an email each Monday from October 2 through December 18th with that month’s block prompt. Since you will already have the entire pattern, you can sew at a faster pace if you prefer. If you want to sew at a more relaxed pace, that’s perfectly ok too. If you want the Quilt Along emails, you must purchase the pattern by October 1st.

I hope you will join me! I put a lot of thought into this pattern and hope you will really enjoy it.
