I’ve always thought that the rolled sugar cookies with hard candy centers were really pretty but I don’t enjoy eating them. Here’s a solution…we can sew them instead! This Sugar Cookie Christmas Tree block pattern comes in two sizes, 6″ and 12″. The cookie portion is sewn in a lightly browned color and the stained glass inside is instead, your favorite Christmas print. If you have precuts available, 5″ precuts are perfect for the center of the small block and 10″ precuts work well for the 12″ block (in fact, you can cut two centers from them if the print is nondirectional).

You will want to sew them by the dozen!
If you haven’t signed up for my newsletter, please do! I will be sharing ideas for this block there in upcoming weeks.
You can find the recipe for these blocks in my Etsy shop or here on my website. Happy baking, I mean sewing!
