In 2020, I introduced my Next Door Block of the Month. I made my original quilt in all solids, and my second in whimsical prints with lots of fussy cutting. You can see them both here. Then a couple of years ago, I decided to start another version that I am calling my Holiday Edition!

This was serious fun to make. Don’t get me wrong, the blocks take a few hours each to foundation paper piece, and that’s after you make all the hard decisions about fabric selection. But it’s just so fun to deck the houses out for Christmas and add holiday and winter characters and creatures and trees in the windows.

My son held the quilt so I could take some pictures in scenic downtown Newburyport, MA this morning where temps were in the teens! Our fingers froze but this quilt needed to be photographed in a little city decorated for Christmas so I am happy that we went and he was cooperative. This quilt is 72″ in length so it required some height to hold.

I thought I would share a couple close ups of the houses.

This is the Triple Decker with doves in the windows and a sprinkles foundation.

This is the Baltimore Rowhouse with the cast of the Nutcracker in the windows and some candy cane trim.

This is such an enjoyable way to showcase fussy cuttable Christmas prints.
