I finished my Woven Quilt! My husband and kids got this great shot for me while I was teaching on Zoom yesterday. They wanted to get all the shards of broken ice from the river in the background.

I really do love two color quilts. It’s always a challenge to settle on those two colors and it’s a bit hard to persevere and complete so many blocks without playing with new fabrics! But I love the results every time.

I always hear that people like the simplicity of my quilts. Yet each block was composed of 20 pieces making this 1,120 foundation paper pieced sections. I agree, the product does have a look of simplicity or minimalism but the construction is far from it.

The finished quilt measures 56″ x 64″ and was quilted with a 40 weight Aurifil thread in a light pink/peach color.

I designed this quilt but I am not writing a pattern. As I have explained in the past, I like to alternate between patterns for sale and quilts that I make just to enjoy the process. I find that this balance is very necessary to avoid burn out.
