Sewing Transitions

Three foundation paper pieced quilt blocks. The blocks are nine patches with sewing themed items in the center: a spool, log cabin block, and button.

I designed another set of Tell Me A Story Transitions blocks! There are so many fabrics with sewing themes that many of the Tell Me A Story blocks end up including them. So it seemed appropriate to add some sewing themed transitions to the collection.

These blocks were made to alternate with Tell Me A Story blocks from my book, Intentional Piecing.

A colorful quilt with octagonal blocks, featuring various stitched stories, rests on a fence with an alpaca peeking through.

The Tell Me A Story blocks (pictured above) each tell a story through their fabric selections. The photo shows the original layout of the blocks. As they have become so popular, I wanted to offer another possible layout. By adding Transitions in between, a really fun secondary pattern emerges.

Here’s a mock up so you can get a taste of what it’s like when alternating with the Tell Me A Story blocks that are just grey in the diagram.

There are many sets of Transitions available in my Etsy shop and my PDF shop, including this one now!
