Tell Me A Story Sewing Transitions

$6.00

In keeping with the story telling theme of my Tell Me A Story Quilt, I created these new block designs. Just as transitions in literature connect one idea to another, these blocks connect one story to the next! They were designed to alternate with the Tell Me A Story block that can be found in my first book, Intentional Piecing (also available here in my shop.)

The theme of this group of Transitions is Sewing. There are Spool, Courthouse Steps, and Button blocks. One could simply repeat the same Transition throughout the quilt top or mix them up. Using Transitions, you get a whole new layout, in addition to the original in my book. I also mocked up two modifications in the pattern, a recoloring of the Courthouse Steps for a Log Cabin look, and a simplified spool.

The Tell Me A Story block pattern is not included, just the three Transitions blocks. The blocks are simple paper pieced blocks but do assume a general knowledge of paper piecing. If you need help, check out my YouTube videos.

The third image is a digital mock up to show how the blocks can be alternated with the Tell Me A Story blocks.

The blocks finish at 6″.
