As a fan of planting native flowers, I wanted to add a Native Bouquet to my collection of Petal + Stem compatible foundation paper pieced patterns.

These blocks are stylized designs based on Coneflower and Liatris. What I love is that even though they are takes on specific flowers, they can remain true to the flower and still give you color choices. Coneflower hybrids are hot pink, red, yellow, and white. And Liatris is both purple and white.

The stem and flower components are the taller style from Petal + Stem measuring 6″ x 12″ each for a finished flower that measures 6″ x 24″. You can swap either component out with the same size blocks from the book and you can pop these flowers into any layouts in the book that feature this size block, like Garden Whimsy and Fiddleheads. Maybe they can find a place in your night garden quilt?
