Avocado Toast Quilt Pattern

This is a quirky, fun, modern quilt pattern based on the popular Avocado Toast. This quilt is composed of 3 different foundation paper pieced blocks. The avocado is pieced both with and without a pit and the two halves are mirror images of each other as if the avocado was truly cut in half.
This pattern does not include “how to” paper piece instructions and assumes a general knowledge of paper piecing. The blocks are not difficult to make but do have many pieces in order to get all those curves, especially the skin of the avocado! Patience is required!
If you prefer a smaller project, these blocks would make great pillows or placemats!

background fabric:
3½ yards off white (White Linen, Pure Solids)
brights:
2 yards avocado green (Appletini, Pure Solids)
¾ yard dark green (Garden Fern, Pure Solids)
½ yard tan (Toasty Walnut, Pure Solids)
⅓ yard or 1 FQ dark brown (Vintage Walnut, Pure Solids)
5½” x 13½” scrap light green (Light Citron, Pure Solids)
More fabric is recommended if you use non directional prints or if you are a paper piecing beginner.
binding: ½ yard
backing: 3½ yards
Pattern includes numbered, colored diagrams as well as full size, mirror image pattern pieces, ready for foundation piecing. This pattern is most suitable for the advanced to intermediate foundation paper piecer.
