Gentle Fade Quilt Pattern

Gentle Fade was inspired by dahlias, roses, and other similar flowers that display a softening of color or ombre look to their petals when they are in full bloom, with the outermost petals being the lightest.

As sewn, this quilt has four gradations of color, starting in the center of the bloom. This can be modified to accommodate the fabrics at hand or to create a scrappy look.

background fabric:
4 yards dark red (Candied Cherry, Pure Solids)

brights:
1/4 yard deep pink (Raspberry Rose, Pure Solids)
1/3 yard medium pink (Festival Fuchsia, Pure Solids)
5/8 yard light pink (Sweet Pink, Pure Solids)
1 1/8 yards barely pink (Crystal Pink, Pure Solids)

More fabric is recommended if you use non directional prints or if you are a paper piecing beginner.

binding: 1/2 yard
backing: 3 3/4 yards

Pattern includes numbered, colored diagrams as well as full size, mirror image pattern pieces, ready for foundation piecing.

Basic paper piecing directions are not included. This pattern is most suitable for the advanced to intermediate foundation paper piecer.
